The Aims And Purpose Of This Book
This book is designed to strengthen your child’s fine motor skills. By completing each of the section in this workbook, your child will be prepared for future academic success. This workbook will help your child develop fine motor skills through fun cutting, pasting and drawing activities. Your child will practice using scissors and glue, and drawing with a pencil.

First, your child will start with paper cutting activities that will help him or her develop confidence in his or her ability to correctly hold and use scissors. In the next section, your child will continue to develop his or her scissor skills by cutting out pieces to paste onto each page. By completing the pages, your child will practice cutting and pasting while creating fun and interactive scenes. Lastly, your child will work through the drawing section, which switches his or her focus from scissors skills to pencil skills, while continuing to provide fine motor skills development through creative drawing exercises.

These skills will take plenty of practice to master. If your child struggles with any part of this book, please refer to the appropriate book from our other fine motor skill product for more focus work.

This workbook is a bind up of a few of the workbooks in our “Basic Skills” series, including “My First Book Of Cutting,” “My Book Of Pasting” and “My First Book Of Drawing.” The order of the sections was chosen with the Kumon Method in mind and progresses from easier to more difficult activities. Please have your child complete the workbook sections in order for best results.
