Your child will have many daily opportunities to count and recognize numbers, and you can help by encouraging your child to count real objects. Help nurture your child's curiosity about numbers by
allowing him or her to practice the counting activities in this book. They will help your child learn how
to read and write numbers confidently from 1 to 30. This confidence will lead to your child's smooth
progress in other arithmetic skills.

Your child will start with tracing white numbers on a colored background, then progress to numbers
which are lightly colored on a white background, and will move gradually to tracing requiring more
developed fine-motor skills. Your child will begin writing numbers which are thick, then move to
tracing thinner numbers indicated only by dotted lines on a white background, and eventually
progress to writing numbers without tracing guides. Your child will be able to learn naturally the
shapes and concepts of numbers by writing numbers again and again.

This book will help develop your child's recitation skills and number writing skills gradually so that he
or she can have an enjoyable practice experience. The basic skills in this book are foundations for
basic arithmetic operations. Learning how to recite numbers in the correct order (number recitation
skills) and how to write numbers in order (number writing skills) are key to helping your child develop
