This workbook is designed to enhance your child's shape and color recognition. Your child will learn ten two-dimensional shapes in this workbook by completing fun activities with eight crayon colors. Through the combination of drawing shapes with different colors your child can learn without frustration as he or she works through this book.
The first section through the middle of this workbook offers exercises to teach shapes and colors in a fixed pattern. Some activities have your child draw the outline of objects that represent the shapes he or she is learning in themes that are familiar. The activities show the colors to be used, however, your child is not restricted from using colors that he or she likes. So, please encourage your child to say both the name of the shape and the name of the color that he or she selected aloud while working on each activity. This pattern of activities can enhance your child's shape and color recognition. In the latter section, the illustrations and color-by-letter activities are included to introduce your child to more mathematical and geometrical elements of shapes. Your child will learn that a combination of simple shapes can make more complicated objects as well as allow him or her to enjoy drawing pictures.
