This book will help your child master writing letters in cursive. Your child will learn cursive letters in a step-by-step manner by practicing first with easy-to-write letters, like the lowercase letter c, and gradually progressing to more difficult letters, like the uppercase letter G. By following the unique Kumon letter order, learning to write cursive letters will feel effortless for your child.

The exercise in this book consist mainly of tracing cursive letters. Your child will become proficient in cursive writing naturally by practicing each letter again and again.

Your child will start by tracing thick letters on a colored background, then advance to tracing letters that are dotted lines on a white background, and eventually progress to tracing very faint dotted lines. Your child will be able to learn cursive letters at his or her own pace, and build a strong foundation for linking letters in advance cursive writing

Offer praise at the end of each page, and write encouraging words or place stickers on each completed page as a special prize.

It’s a good idea to set the number of pages your child will complete in a day. It may be one sheet (two pages) or two sheets (four pages) a day. The essential point to remember is that the practice should come to an end when your child still wants to do a little more.
